Twenty-four boys and girls from Puri, Bhubaneswar and Ganjam vied for medals in the 55th State School Weightlifting Championship at Utkal Karate School (UKS) in Bhubaneswar today. The state meet served as the basis for selection of Orissa squad for the related National championship to be held at New Delhi from December 20 to 29.

Under-17 boys: Arun Kumar Shant, Vidio Muduli, Laxman Chhati, Bapuji Biswal.
Under-19 boys: Bikram Keshari Pratihari.
Under-17 girls: Puja Kumari Sabat, Sonia Behera, Pramila Kirsani, Saraswati Rout, Kiran Kumari Digal.
Under-19 girls: Kalpana Mohanty, Damayanti Reddy, Rashmita Mallick, Lakirani Patra.
